Recyceltes Holz, Papier und geheime (Liebes-)Briefe

Im März 2019 rief Maja Osojnik in ihrem Newsletter Freundinnen und Freunde auf, ihr anonyme, geheime Liebesbriefe zu schicken. Aus diesen würde sie ein Vogelhaus bauen, hieß es. Die Komponistin und Musikerin hatte über Jahre hinweg einen von ihrer Freundin B. verfassten, jedoch nie an den geliebten Adressaten abgeschickten Liebesbrief aufbewahrt. Nach deren Tod war sie unsicher, was mit dem Brief zu tun sei. Mit dem Vogelhaus NESTING (IN) SECRETS, der aus den in Streifen geschnittenen Liebesbriefen geflochten wurde, ist B.s Brief inmitten der anderen Briefe nun gut aufgehoben, Last und Freude sind solidarisch verteilt, er ein neues Zuhause gefunden – und bietet zugleich eins für nistende Vögel.
„Als ich die Einladung zu “For the birds” bekommen habe, wusste ich sofort: Das ist die richtige Gelegenheit. Die richtige Zeit für ein
Ritual. Ich heilte gerade mein Herz durchs Schreiben. Ich lud andere dazu ein, mich und B. zu begleiten. Ich dachte, dieser Brief braucht eine Familie. Eine Familie aus anderen Briefen. Der Brief wird zum Teil eines Kollektivs. Das Gewicht wird verteilt, ist präsent und doch versteckt unter allen anderen Briefen. Ich baue ein Vogelhaus daraus. Ich lasse die Vögel ein Nest aus den restlichen Briefstreifen beziehen, lasse die Sonne die Buchstaben verbleichen, lasse den Regen das Papier aufweichen und auflösen.

i am building a bird house for an art project. my bird house will have a name „nesting (in) secrets”.
i am collecting secret love letters for that and would be very happy, if you would share yours with me.
if you are interested -> don’t be afraid, baby, your secret is save with me and will disolve in rain also -> this is how it works:
1- you write me an e-mail, that you are interested and send me your address,
2- i send you an envelope with a stamp,
2a- some friends told me, that i just need to send them my address and they will send me a letter, so i don’t need to send them my stamped envelopes and avoid the double-trouble with that. in this case, i am humbly appreciative and am thanking in advance for your support of writing and buying a stamp yourself.
3- you write a love letter and send it to me, no signature please,
4- then i of course not open it, but cut it in thin stripes,
5- i mix all stripes in a big box and build the walls out of them…
i would be really really happy to have you in my project and am very much looking forward to reading from you.
one more thing: i would need the letters at the latest on 15.3.

+ moving on: a big personal thank you, to everybody, who trusted me and sent me your secret (love) letters. without you, this project would not be possible. it meant a lot to me and i was so happy over all the letters i got. nevertheless, i felt at the same time the heaviness and responsibility to take real warm care of them. and i did. this project became so personal and special to me, that i decided to continue to develop this work further. i want to make a little performance in coming up summer, in a bit different form, but still carefully intimate and respectful, anonymous to the content of the letters. so, if you are still up to writing a letter, please do so and contact me about it.
